Summer Fun Shoot
Chris with his new Hoyt Bling.
18th July 2010. We've had an other social shoot and BBQ at Riggwelter and the weather was reasonably kind to us. Many thanks to all who turned out. Once again Gill has attended to the needs of the archers stomachs for which we are all thankful. Although there was no informal competition this time and consequently no embarrassment. So that was a bonus.
Andy shooting his Camo Bling?.
Andy and Chris were shooting with their new pulley bows. So from now on it has been decided that they can pull their own arrows from the targets. After all, it is meant to be a fun shoot not some Sword in the Stone job where we all end up knackered from pulling arrows. Sorry guys.
As a good time was had once again, there will be another fun shoot and BBQ in September (date to be confirmed) Members will be notified as usual when the date is confirmed.
Spring fun shoot and BBQ
Gill feeding everyone. You're a star
Throughout the summer months Riggwelter Field Archers holds its own social events for club members. There is usually a great turnout by members to these popular events which usually involves an informal competition. We not only have a good days shooting but tend to over eat making the second half of the shoot somewhat of an effort
A big thankyou to everyone who turned up to the fun shoot on sunday, especially Gill who did a fantastic job with the food.
Andy very happy that he was fed.
Everyone who was shooting had to make a prediction on their final score, the winner being the closest to their prediction. Nearly everyone exceeded their own expectations and completed the course with a higher than predicted score.
The Robin Hood medallion was awarded to John Street who finished six points over his predicted total with 256 points.
The wooden spoon was awarded to Stuart Compton who exactly doubled his original prediction of 200 by scoring a commendable 400 points.
Don't forget, the next social event will be Saturday 5th June 2010 when we will be visiting House of Flying Arrows.
